How to Plan School Holiday Activities in KL
A calm, practical way to plan camps and classes across term breaks and public holidays in Kuala Lumpur.

The short answer
Start planning four to six weeks before the break. Decide which weeks you need cover, pick one or two programmes your child is excited about, and leave some days free. Popular camps fill early, especially around long breaks.
Step 1: Map the break
International and private school calendars in KL don't always line up with national school holidays or with each other. Note your child's exact term dates, then mark public holidays such as Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and Deepavali, when many providers close or change hours.
Step 2: Choose the format
Full-day camps suit working parents and usually include lunch.
Half-day programmes give structure in the morning and rest in the afternoon.
Short intensive courses suit children who want to go deeper into one activity, such as swimming, coding or drama.
Step 3: Check the basics
Ask about supervision ratios, drop-off and pick-up times, food and allergies, what to bring, and the refund policy if your child is unwell.
Step 4: Keep balance
A break is also for rest. Mixing a camp week with a quieter week at home tends to work better than back-to-back programmes.
