Things to do with kids in Bangsar
Bangsar is one of Kuala Lumpur's older, leafier neighbourhoods, a mix of low-rise houses, shophouse streets and two shopping centres on the hill at Bangsar Baru. For families it works best as a place to do small things well: a morning outdoors, an hour of indoor play when the rain comes, and a weekly class within a short drive of home. This guide sets out the places we would suggest to a friend, each linked to its own page so you can check current hours before you go.
Bangsar at a glance
Most of what families use day to day sits around Jalan Telawi and Bangsar Baru, where Bangsar Village 1 and 2 face each other, and along Jalan Maarof, home to Bangsar Shopping Centre. Lucky Garden, a short drive away, has a quieter cluster of shops and enrichment centres. Bangsar is also well placed for the city's larger green spaces: Perdana Botanical Garden is a short drive towards the centre, and a community farm sits on the slopes of Bukit Pantai.
As anywhere in Kuala Lumpur, afternoon storms are common, so it helps to plan outdoor time for the morning and keep an indoor option in mind for later in the day.
Outdoor time
Perdana Botanical Garden (Taman Botani Perdana). The former Lake Gardens, run by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), on Jalan Kebun Bunga. DBKL lists a children's playground, a recreational lake, jogging paths, a deer park and several themed gardens. The park opens daily at 5.30am, closing at 10pm from Sunday to Thursday and at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Arrive early for shade and an easier time parking.

Kebun-Kebun Bangsar. A non-profit community farm and urban park between Lorong Bukit Pantai and Lorong Bukit Pantai 4. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 8am to 7pm, and entry is by donation. Children can see how vegetables are grown and, with a donation, feed the fowls; the farm asks visitors not to pick produce, which is donated to communities in need. Weekday group visits can be arranged by email, and the farm's FAQ suggests parking on Lorong Bukit Pantai 4 and using the rear entrance.

Indoor play and rainy days
Kids Nation, Bangsar Village 2. An indoor playground on Level 3 of Bangsar Village 2 (3F-1A, Jalan Telawi 3) for children aged 1 to 12, with soft-play structures, slides, ball pits and a reading corner. The operator lists opening hours of 10am to 8pm daily, and the wristband allows re-entry on the same day, which helps if you want to break for lunch in the mall.

A simple wet-afternoon plan: lunch at Bangsar Village, an hour or two at the indoor playground upstairs, and a browse of the children's shops on the way out.
